Arnab Goswami WhatsApp Chat leak | Completely Exposed?

Introduction

First of all, I would like to tell you all that whenever you raise your voice, it make a great difference. There has been such  an outcry on WhatsApp's privacy policy that WhatsApp has delayed the implementation of its privacy policy till May 2021. So, the deadline that was 8th February no longer exists.

 WhatsApp hasn't changed or cancelled its policy but even doing this shows that when people criticise or begin to leave in such large numbers, even such big companies feel compelled to take some action.

The second big news is Arnab  Goswami's alleged WhatsApp chat has been leaked. In these chats, houslehold banter or Arnab's personel matter hasn't been leaked but these chat have something that concerns the entire nation and will shake the entire nation. If a leak of this kind had happened in a developed country then it would have been top headline in the media for the entire week. But in our nation, the mainstream media has given it almost zero coverage. In how many news channels have you heard about it? Almost none! Why is this so? Probably because mainstream media is afraid that these chats might reveal something that might expose them as well.

How did the Chats Leak?

 The former CEO of this organisation Mr. Partho Dasgupta's alleged chat with Arnab Goswami has been leaked. How did these chat leak?

 

According to The Hindu newspaper, this chat is the part of Mumbai  Police's 3400 page supplementary charge sheet filed during the alleged TRP scam investigation.

 Initially, the 500 page WhatsApp chat was leaked but now the news is that the entire 3400 page charge sheet has been leaked. So this charge sheet not only has WhatsApp chats of the ex-CEO with different people but email also as well as all the other information that police has collected and written in its charge sheet. You might ask me a question here that I wrote that WhatsApp chats are End-to-End encrypted then how can it be leaked? Remember, I said that it is End-to-End encrypted. What does it mean? The sender and the receiver both will see the message. There could be a way that the Police have retrieved this chat from Mr. Partho Dasgupta's phone because Partho Dasgupta is currently under arrest. So, if the police accessed his phone, WhatsApp can be retrieved by simply unlocking the phone. if th police haven't access the chats by this way then there could be a way i.e through WhatsApp Google drive or iCloud backdrop.

 (did you know if you store a WhatsApp chat backup in Google drive or I Cloud then that backup is no End-to- End encrypted.) It can easily be hacked. So, if Mr. Partho Dasgupta had done this with his WhatsApp chat then Police can easily access it. So, the chances a quite that Mumbai Police must have used either of the way to access the chats. TRP scam hearing was underway in Bombay High Court and Bombay High Court took a decision that the date of the next hearing would be 29th January. After which the WhatsApp chats were leaked. a lot of people have speculated that Mumbai Police has done this itself. But we still do not know who has carried out this leak. The second question that arises here is whether the WhatsApp chats being shown in the leak is real or not?

 How can you prove for sure that these chats are actually authentic and this is actual conversation between Arnab Goswami and Partho Dasgupta? I will talk about this later. First, we will see about the content of the WhatsApp chat.

 Arnab knew Top Military Secrets?

If this WhatsApp chat is true friends then it exposes some mind blowing things. Let's see one by one what has been revealed here.

 First thing that has been found is that allegedly Arnab Goswami knew about Balakot air strikes from beforehand, even before it happened.

 On 23rd February, 2019, Arnab Goswami wrote in the chat, "Something big will happen. Government is confident of striking in a way that people will be elated. Exact words used."

 Arnab Goswami has allegedly written that the government is feeling confident that we will retrot in such a way that people would be happy. We will do something big here. Such information friends under the country's top military secrets. Arnab Goswami apparently already knew about it 3 days prior. If the authenticity of these chats is proved, then many experts believe that Arnab Goswami can be charged under official Secrets Act, 1923 as well for this reason. 

Because leaking such top military information and sharing it on WhatsApp is actually something that is against the country. If it would have been known publicly before it happened, then it would have been a grave threat for the nation. Such things are actually termed as anti-national.

Secondly, after the Pulwama attack, Arnab Goswami allegedly says to Partho Dasgupta on WhatsApp while praising himself that how his channel is the only channel that has ground presence in Kashmir and how he was 20 minutes ahead of other channels while reporting. Additionally, he also allegedly writes, "This attack we have won like crazy."

 Think of it, an attack the country suffered such a great loss; Arnab Goswami quotes the attack as a victory. Probably because he got a lot of TRPs due to his reporting.

 Thirdly, 19th August, 2019, when Arun Jaitley was on life support, Arnab Goswami allegedly wrote to Partho Dasgupta, "Jaitley is stretching it."

 And than he goes on to complain that one of his meetings has been delayed because of it.

Corruption Incidents?

Fourth, Is something that exposes the level of corruption in the government and the media. 17th May, 2017: Arnab Goswami allegedly writes, " All ministers are with us." 

16th October, 2019: Partho Dasgupta allegedly asks Arnab Goswami, "please get me a job as a Media Advisor with PMO." And that he is fed up with the BARC job.

 7th july, 2017: Partho Dasgupta allegedly writes that a complaint has been forwaded against Republic TV to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Arnab Goswami replies, "About his dish FTA thing, Rathore told me and said he is keeping it side." 

A lot of people believe that Rathore here refers Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore who was our former Union Minister of State Information and Broadcasting. So, what can be inferred from this chat? 

Has a minister snuffed out a complaint against the Republic TV?

Maybe there were really good relations between the government and this media house. A lot of people allege that. After that when Smriti Irani became the new I&B Minister than that too has been referenced as well as to how to invite her. 

Next thing, Arnab Goswami allegedly knew about the abrogation of article 370 beforehand because these WhatsApp chats shows that in 2019 Arnab allegedly writes that he has sent 50 crew members to Jammu and Kashmir on 3rd August, two days prior to his major announcement.

 Chats also indicated that Arnab Goswami allegedly met national security advisor Ajith Doval on 3rd August, two days prior to the abrogation of article 370. So, he came to know about it from beforehand. 

Comments on Other Journos

Other than that, This chat also shows the language Arnab Goswami has used for other journalists. He allegedly said about Rajdeep Sardesai that he is losing his job. Abou Sagarika Ghosh, "She is rotting in Times." 

About Arun Puri,"Part of Congress Propaganda machine." About Rajat Sharma is being assumed to be the Indian TV Rajat Sharma, "An utter fool with a substandard channel"

 Rahul Shivshankar who is bring assumed to be from Times now, "An ass." It has been happily mentioned in the chat how Amith Shah called  Navika from Times Now "Kachra"(garbage).

 Simultaneously, it is being allegedly said about Rajat Sharma, "Rajat Sharma is in a mess with Jaitley almost gone."

 Like I said if these chats prove to be true then it is not jus trouble for Arnab Goswami but connections of all other Godi Media channels are being exposed as to how they are puppets in the hands of the government Forget about the government, it can also raise question of the independence of the judiciary because the judiciary has been mentioned al least twice. It was allegedly said once, "Buy the Judge." 

The second time it was mentioned and I am quoting, "Hope the Judge is not the one who can be bought by India Today."

 So, with such ease, bribing judges is being talked about perhaps. 

TRP Scam Proof?

In July2019, when Network 18 channel became no. 2 in BARC rating chart then Arnab Goswami allegedly wrote that how he has worked hard and Network 18 has done nothing at all and still it is no. 2.

 He insisted that this isn't fair and Network 18 shouldn't be left to win like this. He also said that BARC CEO should deal with Network 18 landing issue.

 Do remember all these chats are allegedly being done by Arnab Goswami here with BARC CEO. that brings out the TRP ratings. In another instance Partho Dasgupta allegedly shares a document with Arnab Goswami "in strict confidence." He says how he has jamed other people Allegedly, he writes on WhatsApp, " Have supported you without saying so."

 Now, one question may arise in your mind that if these chats are true then why would a BARC CEO be in support of a journalist? The answer to this question friends lies in this WhastApp chat as well. on 5th MAy,2017, Arnab Goswami allegedly said to Mr. Dasgupta before the launch of Republic TV, "Had you not met me in Delhi, I would have been languishing in NDTV. Can never thanks enough."

 A lot of people also believe that only friendship cannot be the reason behind Partho Dasgupta favouring Arnab Goswami. A lot of people say that this was also because Arnab Goswami had a lot of influence in the government and even inside PMO. Like we saw in the previous example that how Arnab Goswami had all latest updates, top military information was already known to him and how Partho Dasgupta requested Arnab Goswami to help him get a job as media advisor of the PMO. There is one more thing related to the alleged TRP in these chat leaks. There was discussion that was going in 2018 between Telecom Regulatory Authority of India know as TRAI and I&B Ministry to make a proposal.

 such that DTH operators install a chip in set top boxes by visiting their homes which can be used to analyse people's watch time behaviour i.e which channel is being watch for how much time and all this data can be collected automatically. So, how can the system be improved to measure TRP? Partho Dasgupta allegedly says to Arnab Goswami in the chats that he should use his influence and ask the ruling party to chuck away the proposal. Arnab allegedly tells Dasgupta to give him 3 points so that he can got to a person named AS and convince that person that digitalization will not be a good thing politically.

 People are speculating a lot on who is this person named AS? So, this was an overview of what all is leaked in these WhatsApp chats. 

Are These Chats Real?

The biggest question that arises here is whethere these WhatsApp chats are real or has anyone actually typed these to frame Arnab Goswami? The correct answer to this question is that we do not know for sure as of the yet but there are some things in the chats that can be verified. What has been written in the chat has date and time stamp i.e exactly which message was written on which date and at what time. If you compare the message written in the chat with real-life incidents like I I mentioned about abrogation article 370, the Pulwama attack or Mr. Arun Jaitley being on life support. If you match the date and time as compared to when these incidents happened in real life, then you would be surprised how all the messages in the chat accurately match the real life events. One such interesting incident is that at one point in time, Arnab Goswami wrote a speech in message to Partho Dasgupta. And the speech he actually delivered at an event matches the speech Arnab Goswami sent in the chat word to word.

 you will get the Youtube link of the speech as well quite easily. So, all the things that have been mentioned in this WhatsApp chat... If you pick each item, try and match it with real life events then everything matches 100 percent. for all that I have seen.

 Now it could be possibly that someone has written a 500 page script while comparing every single event and then written messages i.e this date and time fits right in. Someone sat down to write it and wrote it for months so that a fake WhatsApp chat is generated. But think logically,  does it make sense? Can someone fake a 500 page WhatsApp chat such that every date and time matches exactly? It seems unrealestic to me.
